The former governorship candidate in Rivers State, Dr. Dakuku Adolphus Peterside has taken a swipe on the Rivers State Governor, Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike and his approach to governance in the State. He accused the Governor for using "knee-jack approach" in tackling security situations in the State.

Former Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) Boss stated this when he appeared as a guest on Rhythm FM View Point current affairs programme on Saturday, July 24, 2021. Dr. Peterside said that Rivers State has become one of the most endangered States in Nigeria due to lack of vision from the State Government.

Dr. Dakuku Peterside, who contested for Rivers State Governorship seat against Governor Wike in 2015 under All Progressive Congress (APC) accused Governor Wike of lacking vision on how to tackle insecurity in the State.

Responding to questions, the APC Chieftain said; "Rivers today is one of the most endangered states in the country. There is neither a vision on how to tackle insecurity, there is no strategy, no architecture. Nobody is doing anything. All we have is knee-jack approach."

"At every point in time, lockdown approach. Everytime there is a security challenge, we lockdown like there are no options. We lockdown our thinking and we lockdown the state, everybody suffers because we have leadership that is not creative, that is not thinking."
